Students, Youth Pledge Support for Sanwo-Olu Re-election, Launch Sanwo-Olu Progressive Youths (SPY)

As the 2023 election draws closer, group launches support group for the re-election of the incumbent Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. The group was named the Sanwo-Olu’s Progressive Youths, abbreviated as SPY, and was launched on Tuesday, October 4th, 2022.

The Sanwo-Olu Progressive Youths (SPY) is an harmonized support group consisting of youth and students of the Lagos State who believe and are in support of the governance of the Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Present at the launch is the patron of the group; Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, the All Progressive Congress (APC) Deputy Chairman for Lagos State; Hon. Mayegun Moshood, the All Progressive Congress (APC) Youth Leader for Lagos State; Dr Seriki Muritala, and Eng. Adenekan Abass, the director of the group.

Also, present at the launch are student union leaders from different tertiary institutions in the Lagos State. According to the convener, Ibikunle Sanwo-Olu, the Sanwo-Olu Progressive Youths (SPY) is a social-political group encompassing of youth and students in the Lagos State. He stated the group believe in the good works of the governor and the increased development he has brought to the Lagos State. 

The co-convener of SPY, Olalere Samuel Owoseni, also added that the vision and mission of the group is to preach the good works of the governor to the grassroots level, and mobilize youth and students for the re-election of Sanwo-Olu. The Sanwo-Olu Progressive Youths (SPY) stands as a devoted support group who are in support of good governance and the re-election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the Lagos State governor in 2023.

The group also pledge their support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential candidate for the 2023 general election. The Sanwo-Olu Progressive Youths (SPY) notes that the impact and insight of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is evident in development of Lagos into a metropolitan state. Compared to Asiwaju’s opponents whose pasts cannot be reckoned with, the group notes that only BAT is capable of leading Nigeria to the right destination.
